ShadowRine localisation.
Welcome to the home page of the ShadowRine localisation. Here, you'll find all of the information you'll need to get the game's translation up and running.
What is this?
The ShadowRine localisation project brings the game into English natively, eliminating the need for any additional software or addons. Leveraging Google’s advanced Gemini AI model, this localisation provides a seamless and intuitive gameplay experience, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the world of Kareshia without language barriers.
Important Information.
Before you grab the translation and immerse yourself in the world of Kareshia, please read the following. Unfortunately, there are bits and pieces of the game that are not translated. Not for lack of trying though. The game just doesn’t look for translations in these areas, even if you have the right strings. Here are the non-translated bits, in order of most to least significant in my opinion. Do note that all in-game text is translated, so once you actually start a game, you are good to go.
- Settings: Most of the settings menu is not translated. I recommend using JGT or something similar when tweaking the options. Fortunately, you shouldn’t have to venture into the settings menu very often.
- Save Menus: The save slot selection screen displays data such as your name, level, money etc. This isn’t translated, but the slot number and your name should give you enough information. If you do need to read all the data, you can always just quickly enable JGT or translate it some other way. The copy menu confirmation dialog is also not translated, but all you need to know is that the first number is the slot you’re copying, and the second number is the slot you’re copying to.
- Status Screen: Most of the status screen is translated, but a few things are not. HP and SP (Unicode normalisation in the latest version of NVDA solves this problem) and play time, the last item on the screen (the numbers are just hours, minutes, and seconds).
- The character select screen in the coliseum.
Setup instructions.
First, get the game here. Next, download the localisation installer and run it. Don’t worry about the scary warning from Microsoft Defender if it pops up; just click Run Anyway. The tool will search for the game on your system and download the latest localisation file. You can also provide your own path if the tool doesn’t find it. This is also how you update the localisation if there are any changes. Just run the tool again and it will download the latest update. And that’s it. Have fun!
If you have any feedback, suggestions, translation corrections, or just want to chat, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. The best way to get my attention is through Discord, I’m lordluceus there. You can also join the Thunderstep Gaming discord.
